I realize this guild is more FPS oriented, but lately more and more pc games are targeting the MMO genre. Therefore i have been playing Console (Xbox360) since i have "disappeared" and would like to know if anyone else has done so? Im looking for more people to join in my late night gaming or just joining up when they have some spare time and feel like fragging. If anything could we start up a console gaming sub-forum?
I would love to add those of you who do play console.
My Gamertag is Clodiman (yes i no its no longer mask, but my friends have called me clodi since high school and its stuck).
Love to hear from anyone at all...

I am surprised about console gaming... I never paid too much attention to it, but the EB by my place had so many PC games... slowly it decreased, now it is just one stand alone rack in the back of the store..
I was so looking forward to the game Lost planet.. it was a crappy port! I couldnt believe it, throughthe whole game it was saying hit b, and X or whatever... controller buttons. I have been reading about how allot of pc games are ported from console versions..
Are PC games on the way out? |

In short, PC games are probably on their way out but it depends on to whom you listen. Publishers and devs are citing piracy on the PC as a major deterent to devloping games for the PC. Not that console games can't be pirated. Also, it is easier to write software for consoles where max spec = min spec and you don't have to worry about retards not updating their drivers since 2005. Users cite a smaller investment for the console versus this perceived notion of constant updates for PCs. To a degree I call bullshit on that one. I've read some articles that say PC sales are under counted since Valve does not publish their online sales data but console games sales usually top the charts. As a game dev, why wouldn't you go that route? Even id has said the XBOX is their primary platform for Wolf2 development.
However, WoW obviously has a winning formula for the PC. |

The only support I'd lend to that argument is that consoles are become more PC like with every model. Soon enough, you'll see that consoles will have way stripped down features that used to be PC specific. And it's coming but can you imagine going to your X-box to surf the internet, check e-mail, google topics, check your local news... Sure, those aren't game items, but it will take a lot for me to give up the keyboard/mouse for a controller. |

Well since I've moved out I no longer have a PC. I got a laptop but it's not really made for gaming so I don't really play any games on it.
But of course I had to continue gaming, so I bought myself a 360 and have turned into a console gamer.

If anyone has one add me up and let's get fraggin.
I mostly play NHL 09 and COD5 online, but I'll be getting the newer versions when they come out. (NHL should be in a week or two and COD6 is coming out in November) |
