SilverSpray Guild Rules and Guidelines
These will be amended as necessary, and they may change
based upon the situation currently at hand.
Guild leaders
Guild Responsibilities are divided amongst Guild
leaders. Responsibilities are:
- Administration
- Membership
- New Clan Creation
- Dispute Settlement
- Guild Development
- Clan Management.
Guild Leaders are charged to focus on healthy expansion and growth of SilverSpray. Growth should include, but not be limited to, new games, new Clan development, membership, and the growth of Guild Members and their roles in SilverSpray. (Ammended 11/29/2006)
SilverSpray Guild Leaders are highly encouraged to play within the Clans of the Guild. Guild Leadership status and responsibilities should not exclude the Guild Leader from gaming, as that would be contrary to the purpose of SilverSpray. However, while an "in Clan" Guild Leader represents a resource of experience and wisdom that is available to the Clan Leader, the Guild Leader is not required or expected to take control within the Clan. The Clan Leader has primary responsibility within the realm of his Clan. (Ammended 11/29/2006)
Clan leaders
Clan Responsibilities are divided amongst the Clan
leader(s). Responsibilities are:
- Clan Administration
- Clan Membership
- Clan Development (Tournaments, Scrimmages, etc.)
Clan leaders are not Guild leaders, however a Guild leader can choose to
lead a Clan.
When a Guild leader is in the position of Clan leader,
that Guild leader should seek out another Guild leader to act in his stead as a Guild
leader. This is to keep objectability.
Guild and Clan Members
Guild members who are not Clan members, should transfer
their tags to the rear (ie. Dark God -SS-) when playing a game they are not actively
considered "in clan."
A Guild member that wishes to participate with or join
another clan will be allowed after review by a majority Guild leaders. That Guild member
will be required to wear Guild tags at all times and will not be allowed to join the other
Clan if that is not permitted by the other clan.
Old Clan members can retire from a Clan and remain only
in the Guild. In order to return to a Clan, they should notify the Clan leader of their
desire to return to active duty. The Clan leader and a Guild leader will either grant or
decline this request, based upon their best judgement.
Members will follow the following guidelines:
- Members within the Guild will not be guaranteed membership in a Clan.
- Members in a SilverSpray Clan will be granted Guild membership.
If a member desires to see a new game added to our Clan
activities, talk to a Guild leader to determine if the need is strong enough to merit Clan
formation. Also, be prepared to present yourself as a potential leader for this new Clan.
When the desire exists to form a new Clan within SilverSpray, the approval of a majority of Guild Leaders is required. (Ammended 11/29/2006)
Recruitment and New
Members
Recruitment will follow the following guidelines:
- New recruits must be sponsored by someone in their respective Clan
(and/or guild).
- Though votes may be used to determine a general consensus of karma.
Voting will not be used to decide membership.
- The sponsor [of the prospective recruit] should announce new candidates
to their direct leader (Guild or Clan).
- A minimum of three leaders (Guild or Clan) will then review the new
applicant and determine if they are SilverSpray material. However, at least one Guild
leader must be involved during the review.
- The sponsorship to membership path should be expected to take about two
to three weeks. During this time, they will be required to post on our boards and
participate in -SS- events as invited.
- No first "tryout" will ever be the initiation ceremony.
- New Members will be above the age of 18 as a ‘general
guidline’. Exceptions will be made, but will be closely scrutinized by Clan and Guild
leaders
- Other Clans may be added to SilverSpray as we expand and grow. However,
these will not be formed without Guild leadership approval and without someone deemed a
responsible Clan leader. "Mergers" will be generally opposed, but not completely
disallowed.
Other Issues
Clan issues should stay on the respective Clan board.
Family issues should be on PRIVATE boards. Disregard to this guideline will be taken with
the upmost seriousness. (IE: You may be temporarily banned from the board and/or your
message WILL BE MOVED OR DELETED!)
Disciplinary actions will be dealt with by both a Guild
leader and the appropriate Clan leader. When the inappropriate action is taken by someone
not in a Clan, two Guild leaders will handle matters.
When a Guild or Clan member becomes involved in a
dispute with members of the SilverSpray leadership and does not feel their position is
being properly considered, they should seek out another uninvolved Guild Leader to mediate
the situation. The Guild Leaders will consider all sides and make the best decision
according to their judgement. (Amended 4/11/2003)
When a Clan or Guild member (current or past), becomes involved in another clan outside of SilverSpray, any recruitment efforts directed towards SilverSpray Guild members will be viewed as inappropriate behavior. The Guild Leaders will consider all sides and make the best decision
on what actions to take according to their judgement. (Amended 3/17/2004)
